Loft Market

Click here to help provide support and shelter to survivors of the Haiti earthquake.

Loft Market grew from the idea of connecting local eaters with local sustainably grown organic food from family farms in the Perth, Waterloo and Wellington Regions of Southwestern Ontario.

We fill our loft bags and loft boxes each week of the year with local sustainably grown organic food which we deliver to our 16 depot locations in Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge, Guelph, Wellesley, Elmira and New Hamburg. Local eaters simply choose the weeks they want to receive food and where they want to pick it up.

Local eaters receive the freshest food possible. We pick up their orders in the early morning from our farmers and we have deliveries completed by late afternoon on the same day. In addition, several of our local farmers have recently built greenhouses allowing us to provide an increasing variety of fresh organic food over the winter months!!

In the past year alone our farmers have doubled their certified organic land base thus reducing their use of and exposure to synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, insecticides, herbicides, fungicides, bactericides and genetically modified organism (research now suggests higher rates of cancer and leukemia among farmers exposed to pesticides).

With the average Canadian farmer now over 52 years of age we are nearing the point at which many of our local farmers will start to transition their farms over to their children. With your support of Loft Market we can ensure healthy, sustainable farms and sustainable incomes are passed on to these children so that they may someday feed our children.

Testimonials

  • I don't know what I'd do without my weekly LOFT bag. Before LOFT I'd been attending the market once per week, but the vendors don't have anywhere near the selection that my bag does. My co-workers are continually jealous of the very extravagant salads I bring in, to which I reply "It's just what's in the fridge." My only complaint is that after December the box isn't available until June, what do I do for those months?

    Keep up the good work!

    Regards,

    Robert

  • Thank you so much for the beautiful box of produce that I picked up on Friday. When I put it in my car I was so overwhelmed with a feeling of gratitude that it brought tears to my eyes. I am five months pregnant and am so happy to know that for the duration of my pregnancy my baby will be getting the benefits of the healthy, local, organic produce that I'll be eating.

Thank you for all of your hard work to bring us beautiful high quality food.

    Blessings,

    Sara

  • This is a wonderful program! We as a community need to promote local farmers and all of their abilities. The benefits of eating organically and locally are endless! To those who made this an option: My husband and I thank you for making it a little easier to provide our children with healthy eating choices, which will hopefully help to promote a healthier lifestyle!

    Sincerely,

    Sara

  • Just to let you know, the box is fabulous! Nicely put together! Nice touches with the herb bundle and the flower on top! We had a fantastic salad last night…haven’t tasted tomatoes that good since last summer! Yummy!
Thanks again, looking forward to next week!
